Two events Saturday July 17:
Event #1:Butter Sculpture Workshop The monks will work with children and adults to create traditional sculptures made from butter, as has been done in Tibet for over 800 years. This workshop will begin with a demonstration by the monks and will be followed by the opportunity for each participant to make his/her own butter sculpture. Saturday, July 17, 11 - 1pm Fine Arts Center. 30 Dale Ave. Colorado Springs. Suggested donation $12.00 However no one will be turned away due to a lack of funding.
Event #2:Vajravidaran Healing Ritual: Vajravidaran is a Buddha associated with purification and health. This ritual offers an opportunity to improve your health by purifying negative karma. The Vajravidaran ritual of purification and has three stages: the removal of negativities, the cleansing of subtle negative imprints, and protection from their return.
The abbot of Gaden Sharste Khen Rinpoche Jangchub Choeden has this to say about Vajravidaran:
"Vajravidaran is famous deity of cleaning body and mind in the esoteric Buddhism. It is very powerful in cleaning body, speech and mind from all kinds of possible spiritual and material contaminants. For millenniums, great Tibetan yogis lived long, healthy and prosperous life by relying on the practice of Vajravidaran and recitation of his mantra "NAMO CHANDRA VAJRA KRODHAYA HULU HULU TISHTA TISHTA BENDA BENDA HANA HANA AMRITE HUM PHAT". Through the infinite power of Vajravidaran one can benefit self and others by cleaning body, speech and mind. Meditation of Vajravidaran is specially effective and appropriate for persons, who need to clean their body, mind or spirit from spiritual and physical contaminants. It is also helpful for the patients and healers in order to boost their physical and spiritual energy."
